Carolyn Inabinet, NCTM is the
director of Music Works Academy. MWA, located
in north Central Phoenix since 1974, offers
lessons in piano, guitar and voice as well as a
young children’s piano readiness program,
Harmony Road. Piano discovery classes for
parents and children 18 months – PreK and piano
classes for Kindergarten and 1st graders provide
small group activities with ear training in
solfege, hand coordination and awareness with
drumming, finger development with piano, and
music reading readiness activities. In addition
to the younger student population, MWA has over
forty adults enrolled in private instruction.
Piano students also have the opportunity to work
in a Piano Lab for theory, ear training, midi
performance, notation transcription, and
ensemble playing. Lessons are offered
throughout the summer. Three Performance
Classes, a Holiday Musicale Open House and a
Spring Recital provide in-house opportunities
for performance. Students can also elect to
participate in festivals, ensembles,
competitions, and adjudications. |
